By using CNC Dogbone Generator you agree to these terms. They are deliberately short, because the site is a free calculator that produces a geometry file and nothing more.

What the service is

The generator rewrites the square internal corners of a single closed outline into line–arc–line sequences sized to a cutter radius you supply, then exports the result as SVG or DXF. It runs in your browser. It is free to use, with no account, and there is no paid tier at present.

The exported file is the finished part or pocket contour. It is not a cutter-centre toolpath and it is not G-code. Your CAM software is still responsible for cutter compensation, feeds, speeds, depth per pass, ramping, tabs, and holding. Offsetting the exported contour by the cutter radius yourself and then letting CAM compensate again will oversize the pocket by a full diameter; that outcome is a usage error, not a defect in the file.

No warranty

The service and its output are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the geometry is correct for your machine, your material, your fixture, or your intended fit, nor that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Your responsibilities before cutting

CNC machining is capable of destroying stock, cutters, fixtures, and machines, and of causing serious injury. Before you run a job derived from this site you must confirm, at a minimum, that the bit diameter in your CAM matches the one you entered here, that the units on import are the units you intended, that the part orientation and dimensions match your design, and that a dry run above the stock behaves as expected. You are solely responsible for the safe operation of your equipment.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, nor for any loss of material, tooling, machine time, profits, or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of this site or its output. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Files you create

You keep all rights in the shapes you paste and the files you download. We claim no licence over them, and since nothing is uploaded we never receive a copy. You are responsible for having the right to use any design you bring to the tool.

Acceptable use

Use the site for its intended purpose. Do not attempt to disrupt it, scrape it at a volume that degrades it for others, or present its output as a certified engineering deliverable.

Independence

This is an independent site. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Autodesk, Vectric, Carbide 3D, LightBurn Software, Inventables, or Inkscape. Product names are used only to describe compatibility.
